Yin Yoga is a slower, gentler style of Yoga, incorporating principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine that not only works at the physical level but also offers huge mental and emotional benefits too.

Asanas (postures) are held for longer periods of time at a lower intensity (known as the ‘edge of comfort’) with the use of yoga props such as blocks, bolsters and blankets to provide comfort and support to the body.

This style of yoga is functional as opposed to alignment based, meaning that each student will find a shape to suit their own individual needs whether those are physical, mental or emotional needs. By working at a lower intensity over longer periods of time, relaxation is accessed as well as the deep connective tissues of the body where tension and pain can often be stored.
